Acrylic on canvas, two panels · 12 × 24 in each (24 × 24 in as a pair)

Original two-panel abstract painting in cobalt, copper, and cream. Two 12" × 24" canvases, meant to hang as a pair. One side gathers. The other releases.

Original two-panel abstract painting

At first I saw a current that split and kept moving. Then I noticed how the copper rain sits behind the blue, like something speaking from just outside the edge.

This is a one-of-one fluid acrylic painting on two 12" × 24" canvases. Hung as a pair they read as 24" × 24". The panels belong together. One side gathers. The other releases. Cream ground, cobalt and pale blue ribbons, copper and brown speckle that changes when you walk past.

The surface still has the lift and drip of a wet pour, so morning light and evening light are not the same painting.

Turning Point

Acrylic and 3D molding paste on canvas · 36 × 48 in

Not gallery wrapped

Original wave painting in phthalo blue and raised white paste. Light catches the ridges, so the piece changes when you walk past it.

Original abstract wave painting

At first I saw a tide gathering itself to break. Then I noticed the white paste in the center, the place the water turns.

This is a one-of-one painting on canvas. Almost the whole surface is phthalo blue and 3D molding paste. The paste gives the wave real height. Light catches the ridges, so the piece changes when you walk past it.

The motion is a cycle. What rises falls. What is above shows up below. The work is about trusting that turn, and trusting nature to finish the line.

Acrylic with raised texture on gallery-wrapped canvas · 36 × 48 in

Gallery wrapped · Ready to hang, no frame needed

Original spiral painting in midnight and phthalo blue with raised texture. Some people see a wave, some a shell, some a cyclone. Stay with it and a being starts to gather in the turn.

More details +

Original abstract spiral painting

At first I saw a midnight horse turning inside the blue. Then I noticed the spiral itself, the place a form is still being made.

This is a one-of-one painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. Deep phthalo and midnight blue pull into a tight center, then open again. The surface is built up, so the spiral has real height. Some people see a wave. Some see a shell. Some see a cyclone above them or below them. Stay with it and a being starts to gather in the turn.

The 3D texture is the part that holds you. Light moves across the ridges and the center keeps working.

Gallery wrapped means the canvas is pulled around the sides of the bars and the sides are painted. It arrives ready to hang. You do not need a frame unless you want one for the room.

Original abstract painting

At first I saw three beings moving through dark water. Then I noticed they were not rushing. They were playing.

This is a one-of-one painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. A deep teal-to-green ground holds a vertical splash of pale blue, violet, and white. The pour sits up off the surface. Fine lines shoot out like they were mid-step when the paint froze. Hang it tall and the figures climb. Hang it wide and they travel.

Some people only see color and motion. A few look longer and see them. They do not look worried about the room.

This piece has lived with me for more than a year. It still makes me want to move.

The back is wired so you can hang it vertical or horizontal. Gallery wrapped means the canvas is pulled around the sides of the bars and the sides are painted. It arrives ready to hang. You do not need a frame unless you want one for the room.

Original abstract painting

At first I saw mist coming off the drop. Then I noticed the dark channels cutting through the white, the way the water finds more than one path down.

This is a one-of-one fluid acrylic painting on canvas, made after time in Argentina and Brazil and seeing the falls from the Brazilian side. Magenta, orange, and gold break through charcoal and pale pour. The surface reads like spray and rock at the same time.

You can come back to it and find a different route through the color, the way the falls change when you change your standing place.

Original abstract painting

At first I saw a center catching fire. Then I noticed the light was already moving out, not waiting for the edges to catch up.

This is a one-of-one fluid acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. Gold, yellow, and white break through red and warm brown. The pour radiates from the middle, then folds into waves at the sides. Stand in front of it and the room feels like it has a source.

Gallery wrapped means the canvas is pulled around the sides of the bars and the sides are painted. It arrives ready to hang. You do not need a frame unless you want one for the room.

Original abstract painting

At first I saw a stone opened in the dark. Then I noticed the gold sitting in the center, like a small sky caught inside the ring.

This is a one-of-one fluid acrylic painting on canvas. Violet and deep purple move in bands around a gold and grey core. The pour stacks like the inside of a geode. Some people see rock. Some see a galaxy. The piece works either way.

Seeing into the unseen

Metallic color shifts as you move and reveals details that can disappear in ordinary light. It is a reminder that empty space is never truly empty and there is always more around us than we immediately recognize.
